Federal Prison Records
Price: $24.95
Return: 24 - 48 hours

This search will determine if an individual is, or has been, incarcerated in a federal corrections facility within the last ten years. Information returned will vary upon subject, but may include case numbers, charges, dates, offenses, and incarceration location. The Freedom of Information Act (5 USC 552) and the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 USC 552a) authorize the release of certain information about Federal inmates. This includes information such as name, age, and register number, as well as sentencing and confinement data (offense, date sentenced, institution of confinement, etc.). With a few exceptions, only inmates convicted of violating Federal laws (laws of the United States) are sent to Federal prisons. Individuals awaiting trial for violating Federal laws are also held in Federal prisons. The Federal Bureau of Prisons also houses a few state inmates. However, most inmates convicted of violating state or local laws are sent to state prisons or city or county jails.  >>Order

State
Prison Records (Department of Corrections)
Price: $24.95
Return: 24 - 48 hours

We are able to obtain Prison Records or Incarceration Records for most states in the US. The prison incarceration information is obtained from statewide Department of Corrections databases that are maintained by each state (see sample report). The information released by each state varies. Some states provide records only for subjects currently incarcerated, while other states will also provide information on parolees and past inmates of the state prison system. 34% of the 50 states (17 states) allow us to perform Instant Access Database searches of their prison records. The remainder of the states do not allow online access, and searches must be conducted by phone, fax, or one of our researchers must make a physical search of the records. Records from the Department of Corrections (DOC) list the past and present inmates of the State Penitentiary or State Reformatory. If you know or think a subject is currently serving time in a state prison, then you need this DOC search. This search can often yield information about past incarcerations as well. This search does NOT include Federal or County prisons. Only individuals convicted of a felony are incarcerated in state prisons (felonies are usually crimes punishable by at least one year in jail). If you are not completely sure which states the subject has resided in the last seven (7) years, then we can help (click here for more). Order an additional search of past addresses and make sure that you search all the states where the subject could have a prison record.

County
Prison/Jail Records
Price: $24.95
Return: 24 - 48 hours

There are more than 3500 counties in the United States, and we can provide County Prison Records for all of them. The records are obtained by our researchers directly from the relevant County Jail. Virtually every county in the US is available, although local bylaws and regulations can place certain restrictions on the type of information received. We try to keep abreast of local rules, but with such a large number of counties in the US there may be differences and changes in the local laws that we are not currently aware of. The information that is released can vary widely from county to county, but it usually includes information such as name, age, and register number, as well as sentencing and confinement data (offense, date sentenced, institution of confinement, etc.). But if you wish to verify that anyone, even a family member or direct relative, has been convicted of a lesser crime, ie. not a felony, then a County Prison Record search should bring to light any records that they might have at the County Jail level.  The range of crimes for which inmates can be sentenced to County Jails can vary widely from minor misdemeanors to murder. Inmates sentenced to work release or other supervised programs are detained in County jails.  >>Order

NOTE: If the person that you are searching on is currently in prison, but their trial or court proceedings are still in progress, or in the process of being adjudicated, and if the person has not posted bail, then that will not show up on their record. Until they are convicted, their prison record will not appear.
