Are
there other types of court records?
Yes,
although we only provide services on this web site that search
the state and county Criminal Records, there are other court
records that are available from either the same, or associated
record repositories. These are not held to be Criminal Records
per se, and we provide the list simply for information purposes.
If you are interested in pursuing a search in one of these
categories, then please call us at 1.800.315.7678, or
visit our sister site BackgroundsUSA
for more information.
Bankruptcy Records: There are
169 US Bankruptcy Courts whose primary
objective is to provide a debtor with protection and an
opportunity to start again while at the same time

In certain situations, a creditor may force debtor

is allowed when it is demonstrated that intervention is
needed to prevent a debtor from squandering assets, which
should be preserved for the creditor.
The filings included: Chapter 7 – Bankruptcy
court takes all of the assets of the bankrupt individual-
debts are barred. Chapter
13 – Wage Earners Plan - Debt structure plan.
The individual submits a plan for repayment that
cannot extend more than 5 years. - interest is suspended.
This form of protection changes the rate schedule
of payments and prevents individual’s wages from being
garnished. Chapter

hold, an arrangement is made for secured creditors, an
arrangement is made for unsecured creditors – if the
entity meets all terms of the plan – then they come out
of bankruptcy clean.
